Helping Clients Thrive
It takes a lot of strength and bravery to reach out for help. The courage clients have in opening up and sharing their vulnerabilities with me is something I admire. I enjoy working with a variety of clients across the lifespan, from toddlers to seniors. Using a holistic and strengths-based approach, my hope is that clients feel connected, heard, valued, and worthy. I am honored to witness a client’s authentic voice and their dedication to making changes, and I will support them as they achieve progress.
Coming alongside clients in collaboration, I believe a wrap-around and flexible approach that best fits the individual’s needs is where effective progress and change occurs. I utilize Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also incorporate play therapy techniques and attachment-based interventions.
I have a background in working with children and providing them a safe space to explore feelings, learn new skills, and build connecting relationships. I have developed a passion for working with those along the continuum of the perinatal period, from prenatal to postpartum challenges. Additionally, I have extensive experience in helping those with trauma find healing.
What I Do For Fun
I love spending time with my family playing card games and board games, baking, and having pizza movie nights. When time allows, I enjoy being creative, crafting, and making personalized gifts. Being outdoors, hiking, and exercising feeds my soul. I also love to snuggle by a fire and read or binge watch our favorite shows.
Why I Became a Therapist
I became a therapist because I believe mental health matters and everyone deserves to feel loved, worthy, and to thrive. I’ve been in a vulnerable space with personal mental health experiences and know that reaching out for help is hard, but important. Also, I get to build relationships and see people through all walks of life. To have an impact on others and see them improve their well-being is such a gift.
