How I Help Clients Thrive
Jen believes in a “Whole Child” approach to group therapy. The family is just as much on the journey as the child and therapist. The client learns specific strategies in a structured setting developing new tools for coping with challenges. This safe and application based environment helps kids to practice skills, get support from other group members, and receive professional guidance from a licensed child therapist. Jen creates a safe group dynamic where she meets each group member where they are, tailors activities to fit the group’s needs, and works side by side them to foster a learning journey where success is at the end of the path. Kids learn through play and exploring which shows in her group interactions.
What I Do For Self-Care
Jen believes in the importance of self-care. She enjoys spinning class with friends and practicing mindfulness in her free time. She enjoys learning more about trauma informed care as well as new and innovative techniques to help kids with anxiety and social thinking. When she is not reading professional selections, she enjoys suspenseful novels where she has to figure out the end! Jen has a passion for counseling and working with kids and shows great strength in group work.
“Make yourself a priority. At the end of the day, you are your longest commitment.”
