Helping Clients Thrive

My therapeutic approach is based on the belief that lasting changes and true healing happens in the context of genuine connection. As a relational therapist, my work with clients is grounded in developing a warm, authentic, and collaborative relationship with one another. Our connection will provide a safe space for you to explore your experiences, dig into patterns and pain, and implement more adaptive strategies.

As your therapist, I operate from a deep conviction that you are the expert on your own life and already possess the inherent strength necessary for change. The resources you need – resilience, insight, capacity to grow – are already inside of you – our job is to work together to uncover them. That means, therapy is less about me giving you the answers and more about me coming alongside you as we untangle and reorder all the good and helpful you already possess so that you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

I embrace an integrative therapeutic approach that we will tailor to meet your individual needs. I will utilize evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Collaborating approaches will allow us to cultivate a deeper understanding of self and provide a broader access to effective tools for regulating emotions, navigating relationship and identity challenges, and fostering long-term emotional health.

What I Do For Self-Care

My self-care is the first thing I schedule on my calendar because loving myself well enables me to love others well. The self-care practices that add joy and bring peace to my life include; spending time with Jesus, my husband of 20 plus years, and our two adult daughters as much as possible. I also enjoy working out, hot pilates, reading, writing, and being with my friends. As soon as the water temperatures get warm enough, you will most likely find my family and me at the lake together. We love the sun, summer, and surfing behind our boat until our legs give out.

What I Like About Being a Therapist

My life is a by-product of both the power of transformative relationships and great discipleship. Every significant season of growth I have experienced, I can point back to a person offering me connection and direction. That security provided what I needed to embrace the challenge of change. As a pastor, I have been able to walk with others in discipleship and pastoral coaching for more than twenty years. That journey led me down the path of becoming a therapist because I wanted to gain the knowledge and tools that would help me provide a more secure space for people to do the work of transformation. Helping people name and bring order to what feels chaotic inside of them is work that I deeply value and feel called to do.
